Sunday, February 18, 2018  Sunday. We’re standing in the hallway, shaking hands, and half the ward told me what country I was in… I also gave a talk about choosing the right. So I related it to service and pretty much just gave my farewell talk. In Sunday School some drunk guy came in and gave the sister missionaries a bouquet of flowers, each, then said he couldn’t stay because he had work. Pretty nifty dude. Then we spent the rest of the day GQ’ing Went to sleep at like 9:30 PM. It was nice. 12,607 steps  Monday, February 19, 2018 I broke my nail during sport today so the next few days may be short because writing hurts. Today was P-Day! But we had a flat check at 1 PM so we had to wait until then before we could really do anything. So we just cleaned and napped. We bought groceries, but with our bikes, that only takes like 30 minutes… We passed the flat check so we headed to the church building for sport. Played football on the carpet, got the football stuck on the ...

Loving Belfast!

Sunday, February 11, 2018 First church meeting on the miss. It went great! Psych! I screwed up hard-core. They asked me to bear testimony during sacrament meeting . I did, but when I said it was great being in the Scotland Ireland mission they started laughing before I could finish “Ireland” I didn’t know why, so I turned around to ask the bishopric what I did, they told me I was in northern Ireland… I’m like “duh!” I played it off and I made everyone laugh, finished, and sat down. After the meeting brother Potts, from like five pews behind me, called me out and pointed at me saying “Elder Hutchison, you’re an idiot.” So, first Sunday success! After, we went to city center to GQ then went home. 23,992 steps 9/10 Monday, February 12, 2018  P-DAY Went to library, emailed. Went to stake center, played sport, and then went and got dinner at Burger King with Greenhalgh. Then went to Primark to buy some slacks and sweaters. GQ’d then went home and fell asleep  21306 ste...

Off to Belfast!

Tuesday, February 6, 2018  Today’s the first day out of the MTC. It took 4 to 5 hours to get to Edinburgh Scotland from Preston England. The Mission home is cool. I found out where I'll be serving and who my trainer will be! I'm going to Belfast in Northern Ireland!!! My trainer will be Elder Greenhalgh. I  haven’t met him yet but I met his older brother at the temple when I got  endowed. #Weird. Crazy. After we had dinner, we went out GQ’ing  (Proselyting) and I got a good story for my first day out. We were out  trying to find “The Meadows,“ a big park near University and Edinburgh.  We got lost, and tried, finding our way by asking people for directions.  We found one guy who said he would walk us there. Cool. This guy was  weird, he’s been to jail lots and was a little cuckoo. Every time we  walked past any female he’d ask them inappropriate questions trying to  see if he could get with any of them. (He didn’t) he was gros...

Last Full Week at Preston MTC!

Sunday, January 28 , 2018  Sunday time.... I didn't have to give a talk [when I actually wanted to.] The topic was service, which was my farewell talk. After church we had 4 hours of nothing and it was cool to just sit around with friends and talk. I've been making Sister N. tell me in depth plots to movies we've seen so she can practice her talking [ in   english ] and it's super fun! Afterward, I told everyone about a nightmare I had a day ago and spooked everyone. Then we had an FHE and listened to Pres. Bunker talk to us how important perception and effort is. Then watched a talk by Elder Ballard where he taught the "word of Christ" is a seed and it'll grow if you let it. Later, we had a district meeting and made all the sisters cry again when I gave a speech about how amazing they are, how individual they are, and how God has given us all individual talents that will be revealed on his timeline. They all wanted to hug, so me and Elder H. had to st...

Out and About...

January 21, 2018 Today is Sunday.. . That means I had to give a talk ... because I’m lucky (emoji). The topic was "The Book of Mormon" The MTC president asked everyone to write one on Wednesday, so I did, and this morning we found out who all the lucky lads were. I was one! As I walked through the doors to sacrament meeting I felt like my talk was inadequate so I rewrote it, in my head, with a new take on the topic and expanded on a lot of areas. I used stories that have helped my conversion to know the truth (from my three dads; dad Jeff, Michael, and Brandon.) I am so thankful for those experiences I’ve had so I could "wing" a talk that was a lot better than my prepared one. They were supposed to be five-ish minutes but I winged it to eight (thumbs up emoji). So they call it 'nap day' here so other than church, we all slept for like five hours! Yes! So good. Then we had FHE and played scripture chase with PMG and missionary handbook. I won one ro...

My first week MTC!

January 18, 2018. Today was long! It seems like it’s always dark. It’s dark when I wake up, light for lunch, dark again for dinner. I’m still super tired. I’m starting to see all the potential of learning in the MTC as well as the whole mission. I’ve learned so much today, nothing really explainable, but I really liked the calmness of the Spirit (when I wasn’t fighting sleep). I read 1 Corinthians 2:4 [ And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power] and really felt that this is how I need to teach and be a missionary. I need to continue studying and learning more to further my own conversion so I can have the Spirit stronger to teach others. Day one in the MTC and they’ve already got us teaching investigators, I think my companion and I did OK-ish. There’s a lot of role-playing with fake investigators and I am liking it. January 19, 2018 Another tired day! Jet lag is the worst. I feel so bad when I sta...
